Lock Types

veNAMI supports two lock types: Standard and Infinite.

Standard Lock prioritizes flexibility through a defined duration and allows NAMI to be recovered at expiry, with voting power that progressively decreases over time.

Infinite Lock is designed for maximum voting power and long-term participation: it removes the need for extensions, maintains 100% voting power, receives rebase, and unlocks the full set of veNAMI automations and features.

Infinite Lock

Infinite Lock is the permanent version of veNAMI.

It has no expiry, requires no extensions, and maintains 100% voting power over time.

The underlying NAMI is burned and permanently removed from the supply, reducing the amount of NAMI in circulation.

The position cannot be converted back into NAMI.

What it offers

  • 100% voting power maintained over time
  • No expiry or need to extend the lock
  • Right to receive and claim rebase
  • Access to voting automations
  • Access to advanced strategies
  • Transferability across supported chains
  • Ability to sell the position on the Nami Marketplace
  • Ability to use the position as collateral on Nami Credit
To access Nami Relayer and voting automations, an Infinite veNAMI position must be held on Base. Positions on other chains can be transferred to Base through the official veNAMI bridge.

Standard Lock

Standard Lock allows users to choose a duration between 2 weeks and 6 months.

A position with the maximum duration of 6 months receives 100% of its initial voting power.

Voting power decreases linearly over time until it reaches zero at expiry.

The underlying NAMI remains associated with the position and can be recovered at the end of the lock.

What it offers

  • User-selected duration
  • NAMI recoverable at expiry
  • Participation in Voting
  • Access to voting rewards through manual voting
  • Ability to extend the duration
  • Ability to convert the position to Infinite at any time

Standard Lock accumulates rebase over time, which becomes accessible only if the position is converted to Infinite.

Voting and claims are handled manually.

Voting rewards must be claimed separately on the chains where they were generated.

The position remains on the chain where it was created and can only be transferred to another chain after being converted to Infinite.

Converting to Infinite

A Standard position can be converted to Infinite at any time.

Upon conversion, the underlying NAMI is permanently burned, voting power stops decaying, and the accumulated rebase becomes accessible.

The position also gains access to automations, strategies, multichain transferability, the Nami Marketplace, and the ability to be used as collateral on Nami Credit.

The conversion is permanent.
