The Nami Tokens
Discover how NAMI, veNAMI, and wveNAMI work together across the ecosystem, powering trading, liquidity, voting, and rewards.
What is NAMI?
NAMI is the native multichain token of the Nami ecosystem and the entry point to its participation system.
In its liquid form, it is used for trading, providing liquidity in NAMI pairs, and as a reward for liquidity providers.
By locking NAMI into a veNAMI position, users gain voting power and access to Nami's voting system, voting rewards, and the advanced automations built around it.
NAMI
NAMI is the native ERC-20 token of the Nami ecosystem.
It can be freely held and transferred, traded across supported markets, used to provide liquidity, and is distributed as a reward to liquidity providers in incentivized pools.
NAMI is also the asset used to create veNAMI positions.
Holding liquid NAMI does not provide voting power. Voting power is obtained through a veNAMI position.
NAMI is the same token across all supported chains.
Supply originates through minting on Ethereum, the hub of the multichain architecture, and is distributed across spoke chains — while maintaining a single, protocol-coordinated supply with no wrapped versions.
veNAMI
veNAMI is the position that holds voting power in the Nami ecosystem.
Each position is represented by an NFT and contains its own amount, lock type, and corresponding voting power.
veNAMI allows users to vote on emission allocation, receive voting rewards, and access voting automations.
How to get veNAMI
veNAMI can be obtained in three ways:
veNAMI supports two position types:
The two modes differ in duration, voting power behavior, and available features.
wveNAMI
wveNAMI is the ERC-20 format used to distribute Infinite veNAMI to liquidity providers.
Within the Nami interface, it is treated as veNAMI, and the unwrap is handled automatically whenever required.

NAMI, Infinite veNAMI, and wveNAMI can be transferred across supported chains directly through the Nami interface.
Nami uses Chainlink CCIP for cross-chain transport, while the protocol routers handle burn, mint, and state transfer between the source and destination chains.
This allows the assets to remain native across all supported chains, with no bridge-associated wrapped versions.
Same cross-chain flow, with asset specific logic handled by Nami.
No wrapped versions are created by the bridge.
NAMI
During a cross-chain transfer, NAMI is burned on the source chain and minted on the destination chain.
The burn occurs before the mint, maintaining a single, coordinated supply across all supported chains.
The token address remains the same on Ethereum, Base, and Robinhood.
Infinite veNAMI
Only Infinite veNAMI positions can be transferred across chains.
Standard positions must first be updated to Infinite before they can be bridged.
The position is burned on the source chain and recreated on the destination chain with the same amount.
The token ID changes, while the position amount is preserved.
Any accrued rebase must be claimed before the transfer.
wveNAMI
wveNAMI can be transferred directly across supported chains while maintaining its ERC-20 format.
Shares are burned on the source chain and minted on the destination chain, while Nami automatically updates the aggregated Infinite positions that back them.
