V4 CLAMM DEX
Engine Architecture
Nami is built around a concentrated liquidity engine designed to scale, with reliability and structural soundness at its core.
Algebra Integral V4 provides this architecture: an immutable core that manages pool logic and state, and an upgradeable plugin layer connected to pools through hooks.
It follows the same hook-based paradigm as Uniswap V4, with one structural difference.
Uniswap V4 binds each pool to the hook chosen at creation.
Algebra keeps the plugin layer upgradeable throughout the pool's life.
This architecture allows new fee logic, routing, and integrations to be introduced without disrupting pools or requiring core redeployments, reducing operational risk from upgrades.
The Nami team has built and shipped plugins in production supporting over $4B in volume, using a modular design to innovate without sacrificing security or continuity.
The same model also enables external teams to build extensions and new primitives on top of a shared engine, increasing the pace of innovation without fragmenting liquidity.
The result is a DEX that can evolve while staying anchored to an audited foundation.
Algebra in numbers
The Algebra engine has facilitated more than $200B+ in cumulative volume, with peak daily volume reaching $-, across 100+ DEX deployments.
Core Mechanism
Algebra Integral builds on the concentrated liquidity model introduced by Uniswap V3, addressing key limitations and making the system easier to extend over time.
At its core, it is a concentrated liquidity engine designed around modularity.
Instead of hardcoding every feature into the pool logic, the architecture is split into two layers:
This separation enables iteration and custom functionality without altering the AMM core, fee logic, routing, and other extensions can evolve while the critical layer stays stable.
The Plugins
Most DEXs began as monolithic and immutable systems, where meaningful upgrades often required liquidity migrations, adding cost and friction.
Integral avoids this by splitting the system into two layers: an immutable Core that manages liquidity storage and swap math, and external modules called plugins that extend functionality.
A plugin is a smart contract that integrates with a pool's contract to extend its functionality.
Each pool can have one plugin initialized at a time, though plugins can be replaced or disconnected.
Plugins can run custom on-chain logic, interact with other contracts, adjust fee logic, and add validations.
Even with plugins enabled, users and LPs retain self-custody: plugins never take custody of liquidity and cannot change the pool's core mathematical mechanics.
Anti-Snipe Plugin
The Anti-Snipe Plugin is a configurable protection mechanism designed for controlled token launches.
It blocks all trading on a pool until the exact start time set by governance, allowing liquidity to be seeded in advance without giving bots or snipers early access.
Pre launch: swaps are disabled, while only approved admin addresses can manage liquidity.
At launch: the pool opens at the scheduled timestamp, with an optional custom linear Anti-Snipe fee applied to early trades.
Fee routing: early fees collected during the launch phase can be routed to a configurable destination.
On chain enforcement: activation is enabled through the UI, but enforcement happens directly on-chain.
Bypassing the UI does not bypass the rules.
This mechanism creates a fair, trustless, and manipulation-resistant launch environment by preventing malicious actors using bots from acquiring large portions of the token before organic buyers can participate.
The result is a cleaner launch - no bot driven distortions, and control over the exact moment trading begins.
Dynamic Fee Plugin
The Dynamic Fee plugin enables automatic fee adjustment at the pool level, replacing fixed commissions.
Fees are recalibrated after each transaction based on volatility, trading volume, and available liquidity.
Parameters and thresholds are configurable per pool — for example, tighter fees for stable pairs and more reactive settings for volatile assets.
Dynamic Fee keeps pool fees responsive to changing market conditions, balancing trading efficiency, protocol revenue, and voters compensation.
