Liquidity Protection
MEV-X Engine
Nami integrates an on-chain MEV-X plugin that internalizes value typically extracted by external actors when swaps create temporary price inefficiencies.
Arbitrage is the practice of buying an asset where it is cheaper and selling it where it is more expensive, capturing the difference.
In an AMM, a large swap can temporarily shift a pool's price, creating a gap against other pools or on-chain sources. Arbitrageurs step in to realign prices.
This process is healthy for the market, but arbitrage profits typically leave the protocol because they are captured by external bots.
Nami's MEV-X Plugin shifts this dynamic in favor of the protocol.
After a swap, it reads the pool's updated state and checks whether a profitable backrun exists, an operation executed immediately after the swap to capture the price gap and restore equilibrium.
When the profit condition is met, the backrun executes atomically within the same transaction.
If no valid opportunity exists or execution fails, the module is skipped and the user's swap proceeds normally.
The result is reduced value leakage and a greater share of arbitrage value retained within the Nami ecosystem.
100% of net MEV-X proceeds are routed into the Recursive Buyback Engine.
The MEV-X integration has been independently reviewed by BailSec.
JIT Protection Module
In concentrated liquidity pairs, automated extraction strategies can deploy capital into narrow ranges during short periods of high profitability, capture emissions, and remove the position immediately afterward.
The limited holding period reduces exposure to price risk, allowing opportunistic capital to compete unfairly with LPs that keep liquidity active over time.
Nami's Protection
Nami protects Active Farming through liquidity-second accounting and an Anti-JIT buffer that can be configured independently for each pool.
Rewards accrue continuously based on the amount of liquidity that is effectively active and the number of seconds spent in range.
When a position is deposited, its accounting begins from the current reward index, preventing it from capturing any share of the emissions accrued before the deposit.
A timestamp is also recorded upon entry, starting the Anti-JIT window.
During the buffer, the position continues to accrue rewards normally, but the accrued amount remains subject to completion of the minimum holding period.
Removing the position before the buffer expires forfeits all accrued rewards, which are redistributed to the remaining eligible LPs.
Once the buffer is complete, the accrued amount becomes available, including the rewards generated during the initial window.
The module does not lock the underlying assets.
Liquidity can be withdrawn at any time, and the penalty applies exclusively to farming rewards that are still subject to the buffer.
When a position is rebuilt within a new range, a new accounting period begins and the buffer restarts from the corresponding deposit timestamp.
The protection period can be configured independently for each pool according to its liquidity profile.
What Changes for LPs
For LPs who keep their positions active, nothing changes.
Rewards accrue normally and become claimable after the buffer. The only behavior penalized is entering and exiting within the buffer window — which is precisely how toxic just-in-time farming operates.
